Anyone else buying food that they later find is opened?

Just wondering since BYC is a world wide forum if others are having this issue? Lately we've been purchasing items at the store to get home and later find that they are opened! For instance, we just received 2 king size chocolate bars and noticed that it appeared that someone hacked of each end. So we have to eat the money but can't eat the food ? Then the same day we opened a box of pudding and it spilled everywhere because the glue had unstuck itself! It is happening with all various brands too so it's like there's just a hitch in the production line's giddy-up. Just wondering if anyone else is experiencing this

I’ve bought yogurt that had been opened by someone else, but I was able to return it.

If any product gives us trouble we just take it back to Publix. I had to take batteries back recently, they were complete duds.

I wonder if some product issues, like the glue, were caused by heating and cooling cycles. Mainly since you live in Alaska.

Oh weird! I was thinking the same thing, but it's never been a problem until these past few years. Might just be an Alaska thing!

We frequent Costco Fred Meyers and Walmart mainly. We haven't tried returning anything quite yet but apparently a local friend of ours said that when this happens to her she just calls and gets her money back. I think we'll do that from now on!

We get stuff after Seattle gets what they want. And then after Anchorage gets what they want.

If there is plenty, we get good stuff. If there isn't plenty, then we get rejects, dregs, or nothing.

You say you have a costco... so you must be shopping in Anchorage or Fairbanks? So, you probably, usually, get good stuff.

For long stretches, we can get good stuff... and then one day most of the freezer case is empty, or full of half frozen/refrozen food, and the shelves have dented cans and smashed boxes.

Eh.... it is what it is.

That said... I have never bought anything where half or part was missing. Except for feed bags... at times those break open, are taped back closed and still sold. But, if it looks like a bunch of feed has been lost, they will reduce the price.
