A few summers ago I worked at Yellowstone, in Mammoth Hot Springs. I had to leave early because I caught mono (lucky me) but it was such a great experience. I figure on a forum with over 50,000 members, I can't be the only nut to have ever worked there.

Every year when the weather warms up I get a little lonesome for Mammoth, so I'd love to hear anyone's stories about working in Yellowstone, or any other park.

That would be a dream summer job..

It really was, I would do it again in a heartbeat if I didn't have a pesky husband and all these animals to feed.

Oh my goodness, that would be amazing! I've never been to the Grand Canyon, but I hope to someday.

Dang, I would have loved it in my ahem younger days! I did work in a state park, as Park Naturalist. My job was mostly putting on a show feeding the big gators twice a day. With no health insurance!

National level would be fabulous!

Never worked in Yellowstone, but did work at a resort outside of the east entrance. Dated a ranger for a year.
Had a friend who worked maintaince down there.

grew up going to Yellowstone all the time and we spent New Years at west Yellowstone snowmobiling in the park til they changed the laws and cut the number of people allowed in.

Wish I could take my kids, but I don't want to pay for a guide to take me where I grew up going.

Don't think that counts as working in the park though.

And I thought having to go out of my way to avoid the elk was bad...
