anyone else have as bad of luck as my family????

Well our first 4 chickens (barred rocks, my favorites) my family got were killed by my dog then my dog killed like 2 more I think and 1 survived so her name is old woman. \\Then one randomly dies before it was even old enough to lay eggs. The most recent to have died was my little sisters frizzle that died on Christmas morning when the egg got stuck because she was laying to big of eggs.

I am sorry you have had such rotten luck. But, don't give up. Now you know what NOT to do, and since life is just a rollercoaster ride, it's bound to head up sooner or later. I'd keep trying with the hens, they are so worth it. I can't even begin to tell you how many chickens have "succombed" in my care, to every predator you can imagine, including well-meaning children. YOu'll get the hang of keeping hens in town, and this forum will give you so much knowledge and support. Be sad a day or two and then plan which new birds you can't live without, it's like being in a candy store, so many wonderful choices. Better luck to you, HenZ
