SnowChik
In the Brooder
I'm going to be contacting Nutrena about this, but I wanted to see if anyone else has bought Nutrena chick starter crumbles within the last month in either medicated or non-medicated and found that the crumbles are HUGE?
I've bought three bags from different feed stores (both regular and medicated to test) and the crumbles in all three bags were giant compared to the bags I bought a month ago. Literally they look almost as large as adult hen crumbles and my baby week-olds can't eat them. I'm grinding the food down in a coffee grinder to get it to the appropriate chick size, but it's really not fun (especially when you have to do it in large quantities.)
The feed stores I bought each bag from were not extremely helpful (wouldn't even take the feed back!) so I'm going to go directly to Nutrena. It almost looks like their grinder is not working right...
I'm located in Oregon, but if anyone else is having this problem with their chick starter let me know. I know I'm not crazy because I know how big a chick starter crumble is supposed to be, and these ones are literally 3 times the size.
Thanks so much in advance for your responses!
