Anyone elses chickens eat feathers???

My girlies are just shy of 7 weeks and have started supervised free ranging...and i notice that anytimr they come across a fluffy feather, be it theirs or anyone elses, they fight over it and gobble it up. Omg theyre so weird

If they do it religiously, it's generally an indicator of insufficient protein levels in their diet as feathers are high in protein...

They eat nothing but starter grower feed and dried mealworms right now...theyre only 7 weeks old.

I try feeding them veggies for treats but they dont love anything other then their food, the mealworms, and stuff they find free ranging

If they are not use to having treat it may take them a while to get use them.
