Anyone ever crossed a Sultan with an EE (or ameraucana)?

I'd be curious to see any offspring...

I have a young EE cockerel (mostly blue) who's been clumsily trying to mate with my white sultan hen, so I am thinking of hatching some of her eggs (if they are fertile...) in the hopes of getting some sweet and interesting looking chicks

Anyone have photos of such a cross? I haven't found anything on google...

Don't think there is such a cross, but I find it weird someone brought this up, as I was planning to do a cross like that this summer anyway. The offspring should be bearded, slightly feather-shanked, and with a small crest, but I'm doing it to get a crested bird that lays blue eggs. So, really, I may use a Sultan or I may use a Polish.

Always been a crossbreed I've been fascinated with the thought of, though.

Also, if you are successful with that - Please do share pics!!

Well my silkie hen has been sitting on 3 sultan x EE eggs for a week now, if any babies hatch I will post updates for sure!

Not holding my breath though, the EE cockerel is pretty clumsy as far as I've seen

If you want eggs, wouldn't it be best to use the Polish? I haven't heard that Sultans are great layers.

I've got six young hens who have small crests and lay green eggs. Their mothers were Easter Eggers, their daddies are Silkies. Polish would probably put a better crest on than my hatchery Silkies did (although I was after broody hens -- the little crests were a bonus).

I'll see if I can get pictures of them tomorrow to post in their own thread -- I've been meaning to do that, anyway.

I would LOVE to see pics!!

Right now my sultan hen is in with my white silkie roo and another silkie hen, hopefully I'll get some fertile eggs from her... She's not a very good layer, but she is sooo sweet that I don't mind

Yeah, Polish are a better option for egglaying. Would love to see pics of crosses.
