Anyone ever hear of a park's chicken??

I just picked up some new chicks from the feed mill, and here's the story I got behind them. Supposedly, thirty or forty years ago, in the area that I live in(Bedford Co, PA) a man raised chickens that were the best layers, sold them all over the country, and now these chicks are descendants of that chicken. Not so sure I believe it, but the chicks are yellow, with a darker yellow, almost dark brown stripe, down either side of their back. I've never seen them before, I can get pics, but I'm also not finding anything when I search. I'll post pics tomorrow, probably what i ended up with is a common breed that I can't identify.
