Anyone good with hawk breeds?

I'd love a breed ID on my not-so-friendly neighborhood chicken hawk if possible. I chased him away from the girls so all is well, but I still shake my fist at the sky :old whenever I see him overhead!

Thats a Cooper's Hawk (or possibly a Sharp Shinned hawk--they look almost identical). They are common hawks (I have lots in my area) that usually prey on small birds like sparrows.

I agree with Wyandottes7, it does look like either a Sharp shined hawk or Cooper's hawk (the two look very similar). how big was the hawk?

I'd say from wing tip to wing tip was about 3 feet or so.
 
If that's 2"x4" fencing, wing span is more like 2 feet.
