Does anyone have pictures of their ducks, shelters, pens, or coops (don't know if coop is a term used for chickens and ducks) I have a shed I wanted to use for a winter shelter, but was wondering what to do about the floor. I posted a note on Coops but didn't get a lot of response. I am more interested in their inside pen as I have a covered chain link dog run for outside. I live in an area where there is a lot of snow. The shed has a plywood floor and I know that would rot, so what do you do for the flooring??? I am new at this but I will have 3 or 4 runner ducks and I want to make sure they have a good shelter for this winter.

I use one of these for 3 Call ducks:

Here's mine - it has a treated plywood floor (4 years old and still looks great - no rotting) that I cover with a thick layer of pine litter; we've added aluminum roofing to the top since this picture was taken:

I also have a second pen just like this one (I have a boy pen and a girl pen - and hope to build a breeding pen as well before the summer's out) - except it's half the size and is stained with redwood deck sealant inside and out rather than painted - an idea I borrowed from a fellow BYC-er!

For just 3 or 4 Runners, as long as you keep up with cleaning the bedding, a shed with a wood floor should be fine - I have no problems with plywood floors! I love cleaning my pens in the winter because it's super easy - the duck poo and splashed water freezes in the pine litter and I scoop it with a rake like a kitty litter box after I let them out each morning.
In the summer, I use the same method, except I end up removing a lot of wet litter from splashed water every morning.

Thanks for the pictures. That gives me an idea of what I can do now. I think I will just use a portion of my shed.

Probably not what you are looking for. The painted OSB siding is temporary as the duck house is being expanded again. There is also a livestock guardian dog in training inside the electric fence. The floor is 3/4" 4' x 8' pressure treated plywood and the roof is steel.
