Anyone have Welsummers from meyer hatchery or ideal poultry?

How was their temperment and egg color? I dont have any local breeders near me so am going to have to order from a hatchery I would normally use Cackle but theyre gone for the season already. Thanks

I have a hen from Meyer, and she’s the best BUT welsummer are not typically known for being personable. She is a great layer of beautiful eggs.

It varies a good bit. Sometimes it’s a rich solid brown and other times it’s light brown with dark speckles.

No pictures of her HUGE matte/terra cotta-colored eggs at the moment, but my Meyer Welsummer is still going strong at almost 7 years of age. Thinking she still lays upon occasion, too. Very sweet girl. Highly recommend.
