do you know anyone with a incubator?ChickenCanoe
Thanks for the response. If I get near St Louis, I will check with you. Do you mail chicks? They sound like one of the breads that would do well for our place, I would like to let them free range as much as they can safely. If I don't get the Black ones next spring, I may try the Partrige or Crele, but I think the Blacks are all I need.

Me too I just hatched my first batch so I know fertility is good, second batch will hatch around march 1st. Im not sure about the purity of the first batch since I raised them with a pair of blue ameraucanas so they might be crosses. Hmm do you think the crosses will lay olive colored eggs.I'll ship chicks after I'm NPIP but not yet. Hopefully later in the spring.
if there mixes they would have pea combs since there a F1 cross. if they have straight combs there Black PenedesencaMe too I just hatched my first batch so I know fertility is good, second batch will hatch around march 1st.
