Hi everyone!

I got the Elector PSP - thanks for the tip!

Now I am wondering how to use it - I know not to spray outside because of bees etc. - but I am not even sure how to use it inside the coop and on the birds to be safe with the birds.

Our Guineas eat off the platforms (millet at night to be bribed back into the coop) and if I spray the platforms they may eat some of the toxin - also if they clean themselves after the stuff is applied to the birds

Is it safe? At what concentration? How do you apply it to surfaces and the birds??

Would like to do this tomorrow AM before it gets too hot - any reply much appreciated!

If you haven't already done so you may want to check out the following thread.

Thanks, R2elk!

I read all the posts and it helps.

Still not sure how to spray the birds, though - in the thread folks talk about just spraying their bottoms and underside and not getting them too wet - does that work?

What is the best way to do it?

I have no idea but if I needed to do it, I would just mix some up in a spray bottle and go from there. I would most likely take individual birds from the coop to an area out of site of the others (seems to help calm them down) and use a gentle spray on them. I would release the guinea to the run and get another one.

Other than opening their coop door every morning, chasing them in every evening, keeping their water and feed full and stealing their eggs, I really don't have much interaction with my guineas.

I found your mouse story amusing because my guineas have a field day with mice. I recently had a mouse set up shop under the feed storage barrel. The first I knew of the mouse is when I found it after the guineas had partially eaten it. I moved the barrel for a day and the guineas completely cleaned out its nest site.

Good luck.

Yeah - our Guineas are not great mousers - they pecked the eye out of one once and I rescued it and put it in the woods, poor thing - it was hung in the hard wire cloth - other than that they seem to leave the mice alone - to be fair the mice come out at night when the birds can't see much anymore.
