Ive got a pair of Chukars that I raise in a cage off of the ground, and recently gave them a nest box due to myself being overwhelmed with eggs and baby chicks right now. Right now, theyve made a nest and began laying the eggs in the nest, and there are 2 eggs in their nest as of now. Earlier today, they were taking turns sitting on the eggs for a little while like they were practicing or something. Considering all goes well and they successfully hatch the eggs theirselves, what do I do next? One thing I was wondering about is that the chicks would need a high protein feed thats medicated, but my breeders are eating 18% protein super breeder at the time, so how does that work with both the parents and chicks getting the proper feed, and not the other? The feed question is assuming that I leave the chicks in with the parents and let them raise them which is what I would prefer; or would it be better for me to remove them and put them in the brooder? Any thoughts and tips would be appreciated. Thanks
