I was wondering if any of these girls look close to laying yet? They are 18 wks today !!!

Are they Australorps? If so, the two Australorps I have had combs and wattles that were a little more developed and redder than yours do before I saw the first egg at 25 weeks....hang in there! Everyone seems to be having to wait a bit longer than usual to see eggs....

Oh yes,

I forgot to mention, they are australorps.

One of them crouches down whenever I pet her.

Ooooo....the crouching is a GOOOOOOOD sign....especially if she arches her back kind of spazzy when she squats...

I don't have any australorps, but mine had combs that were a little bigger and redder than any of yours. Mine were 19 weeks old when we got our first eggs.
