I put my incubator up over a month ago and got the itch to hatch again! I had sold off alot of my flock due to personal reasons and the girls have picked up laying again and I have been collecting eggs to save up to hatch. I have now 12 eggs and 8 from my aunts to put in the bator. Its now plugged in and warming up waiting for it to get the right temps. I am so excited to hatch again and add some new to my flock because I have been so bumed about the ones I had to sell.

Anyone with me?

Awww, I'm glad you decided to incubate/hatch more eggs! While I didn't put any new eggs into the 'bator tonight, I did set a dozen of my neighbor's chicken eggs into my hatcher. She had a mixed batch of duck and chicken eggs set the same day in her 'bator, so the chick eggs are now in my hatcher.

Good luck with your eggs! Hope you'll keep us updated as the hatch nears.

Thats a long time to wait Mahonri! I couldn't wait that long..LOL This will be my last hatch for this year for sure. I'll prob end up with more roo's then I want but will weed those out come spring..LOL I just had to have one more hatch before its too late.

I got 2 new pullets today so I am very excited about adding more I am pretty much set in my roos..LOL Just like to have more girls.

Can I join ya'all? I lost my rooster this spring ($%#& neighbor's dog. This week, one of the two hens I have left started sitting eggs (not fertile). I couldn't stand the thought of taking them from her, so I found eggs at a local store that come from a local farmer and just managed to get them tucked under her.

She's so funny. At any other time, she refused to be touched. Pitches a total fit if I capture her. Tonight, it was like she had gravity pants on... I could barely get the eggs stuffed under there.

Thanks to this site, I did check a couple and they look like fertile. Still have to deal with the fact that they sat in a store fridge for about 4 days... but at least she has a shot with these eggs and maybe I'll get a rooster out of it.

Anyway, I'm getting a little excited now that I found her some fertile eggs... am praying they're viable... and wondering what type of chicks will come from them.

So now the hard part... waiting

I feel your pain 5 of the eggs I put in lastnight was from one of my hens that came down ill and passed away today. So these eggs are extra special to me. I have my fingers crossed for a girl as pretty and as sweet tempered as she was. Today has been a very sad day for me.
