I was checking out the Breeds page and I think I am lovin' the Brahmas. Anyone raising them? Are they a friendly and good layers?

I have one young Buff Brahma and 3 very young Light Brahams. I don't know about the egg laying yet, but I have heard they do okay.

I love my Buff Brahma Dufus; not sure yet if its hen or roo, but a very cool bird and the Lights are turning out to be wounderful as well. I think they are a great breed, very big birds.

I have four buff Brahmas, three dark Brahmas (and eight chicks just hatched this morning), and 20 light Brahmas, not to mention whats in the incubator. They are my favorite breed. They are huge, friendly birds. I have five roos and they pretty much get along and don't crow all day like my Jersey Giant roo. They are very calm and easy-going. I have been told they are okay layers, laying about 4 eggs a week. They are slow to mature, though. My 7-month-old hens haven't started laying yet.

, 1 was/is all tipsy and I have to hand feed it mash (it's food with water mixed in and sometime plain yogart). It's getting better but it's roomy's are all bigger than it.

oh and mine are bantums, anyone know how big they get?

I have lights, darks and buffs. Love em. Very calm birds. Really good layers. They are almost 15 months old. I have 13 hens and average 9 eggs a day right now while it's hotter than hades outside. During the winter (their first) I averaged 11 eggs a day.

I love my Buff and Light brahamas. I started with an assortment of featherleggs. We liked our Buff so much i got 5 more and built them their own coop and run so i can breed them. Good Luck and Welcome to BYC
