Anyone tried using a house thermostat?

Well after my Little Giant incubator fried my poor eggies. I've decided that Im going to attempt to build an incubator. I was wondering if anyone has tried using a digital house thermostat? What I would like to do is hook up my old Little Giant heater coil to the digital thermostat. Any ideas on this?

All of my household thermostats have way to wide of a variance to consider useing one of those models to control incubating temps .
