I have had to use a saddle like this because the neighbor's rooster was just riding her too hard. It worked well and seemed to protect her. She finally stopped laying/started molting just a few weeks ago. My dilemma is it's December. Will she be ok, as far as temps go, if I remove the saddle now? IDK if a saddle prevents feather formation or keeps them too warm to take it off now in winter. (I'm in WI).Hi everyone! I have a few chickens that are below the pecking order and are always being picked on. One of my hens even got a huge gash on her side. A few of my hens have naked backs from all the pecking. I started this thread because I have been wanting to start using saddles to help them. Any opinions on the saddles?
Thanks!
