Anyone use landscaping to conceal/hide run?

I have three vines covering the top of my pen since I built it under an arbor. I have a cross vine, a chocolate vine and in the summer a white sky vine. It helps keep them cooler and it looks good too! I don't have a problem with the eating any of them.

ok so i read through that list, now my yard scares me for my girls! lol, they don't freerange much anyway.

three shrubs i really like, all keep their leaves year round: Hawthorn, lorapetulam (beautiful flowers early spring through summer) and cleyera (dark green leaves that turn bronze in late summer)

A lot of plants are toxic, but not to the point of being dangerous to chickens. In other words, chickens won't eat enough of them to get sick. I would not put one of the plants with known toxicty inside the run, though, because no matter how unpalatable chickens confined to a run will eat pretty much anything green down to the roots.

you should be able to plant lots around it vines work great and tall plants inbetween the vines check to make sure you get the fastest growers for your area. im in spokane, wa im putting a kentucky wisteria and silver lace vines and some bamboo around mine.. starting it next week.. should be lots of fun..
