I have some eggs I collected today and one is a twin...I'd be willing to ship to someone that will hatch them out and send me photos of what you get. I'd prefer someone that would like to hatch them as a pet, but I'm not that concerned if someone wants to hatch them out as meat birds either...I just would like to see photos of the baby chicks and what the twins might look like if they make it. We won't be around to hatch out (vacation planned) otherwise I'd give it a try myself.

I don't know which hen is my twin layer (one of them lays a twin egg every so often) anyhow, my hens that laid these eggs are one of the follow:

Rhode Island Red
Buff Orpington
Silver Laced Wyndotte
Golden Laced Wyndotte

The roosters I have are Silkies.

First come First serve...if no replies, I'll just put today and tomorrow's collections in the fridge and make breakfast with them.

I'd do it for you where are you? I'm in Canada though, not sure if the egg would make it...but I'm sure willing.
let me know.

I'm in California.

It sure would be fun to see a double make it...I didn't think it was common...what about double eggs that mama sits on??? what is the success rate there?

I think it is 0. The chicks can't move around enough to zip and die in the shell. The very few that have made it had to be helped out. Even with help at least one usually dies in the process. I know I wanted to hatch one until I did a bit of research.

I was just wondering if there could be two in one and this post tells me it can happen. We had a girl that just hatched some eggs. A week ago I moved her and eggs to a private nest to keep the other girls from stealing her eggs. I moved 9 eggs with her. When she was done, there was one egg that did hatch at all and another one that was half opened with a dead chick in it. She has eight healthy chicks which had REALLY confused me. So I was wondering if there had been two in one shell and can you tell, by candling a freshly laid egg, if that could happen. Most of our eggs are brown and I'm not very good at seeing things inside.
