hi fellow chicken lovers!!!

its that time of year when all new plants are in or are goin in the garden!! and with new plants goes slug pellets!!! i dont let my chickens roam around the garden while the slug pellets are down!!! so does anyone have any thing different or interesting that they put in the run to keep your chickens occupied!!!!

Why not let the chickens take care of your slug situation? Sound horrid, believe me, but word is, some chickens actually adore that sort of thing.

Hehe, the monster slugs here the chickens don't even touch.... I find though, if you let the chickens have free roam of the place right up to the day you plant and then fence them out, slug problem greatly reduced. I also use the stale beer in a container method and drown the little ones. I would be afraid of slug pellets moving out with the slugs.

Here is a medium sized slug. Pretty normal sized for this area. Seen some twice the size, almost mistake the largest ones as dog poo.

Oh my gosh that is huge!! Do they cause highway accidents? I imagine if they got squished on the road that would make quite a slippery spot. Sort of like mayfly season around here and that one place that has a problem with all the crabs on the road and everywhere.

Dang I thought when people said they ate slugs that all slugs were the same, you mean people in other parts of the country dont have slugs like ours?
