Apologies to my Chickens

Feeling sorry for my chickens. We’ve been enjoying days in the 70 to low 80’s range and nights in the 50’s and 60’s. That’s all gonna’ change with our first winter storm.

Rain after midnight tonight and temps dropping from mid-50’s to high 30’s tomorrow. The rain will change to snow. And after the snow quits, we get a taste of days in the low 30’s.

I’m betting there will be lots of “inside the coop” time starting about midday tomorrow.

I feel the same way for mine every late fall/early winter. I also feel a bit bad for me, since I know that I will be fighting frozen water and snow piles in the runs.

Snow! Already! I know it is just around the corner here too but I am not ready, and I bet neither are my chickens too.
