JoanisaBelle
In the Brooder
JoanisaBelle here! My mother dearest, MaryZoe, has been raising chickens for years now. And now I'm a brand new chicken mama, with six plymouth barred rocks and (maybe?) one black orpington. They're about a year and a half old.
The vast majority of the coop and run was created with salvaged and second hand materials. My wonderous partner Jade designed and constructed it, with my assistance.
Quickly realizing we need to get the water, and feed, up off the ground.
These ladies have not had a coop before, or nesting boxes, so there might be a bit of a learning curve (I hear that placing wooden eggs in the nesting boxes helps).
We also have a dog, Squeasel. We live in the Appalachian Mountains and are delighted about this journey caring for chickens.
