i told my father i was having another baby. he watches our 2 kiddies while hubby and I work!!! he was happy..... told him via-phone....then i called back a few minutes later and told him APRIL FOOLS!!!!!!
i didnt want him to faint!! another baby to watch!!ha ha !!

thinking on something good for hubby tonight!

I'm pretty confident it was part of the joke. Just feel sorry for the people who thought they might get a tiny bit of relief in this horrible economy, by selling more of their eggs to restaurants.

I agree, I played along until I realized how many people though it was true. Most seemed to be new members, who haven't seen the April Fool's craziness on BYC.

In the long run, I think it lacked in terms of sensitivity and good taste. BUT.... it's hard to come up with something new every year. Perhaps good ideas and suggestions could be PMed to a mod/admin throughout the year, so they will have time to sift the ideas and choose one.

My personal favorites are the changing of words when typed, or titles. Last year I hatched a bunch of "BYCmembers" about this time!

One year, I popped the "G" and the "H" off of the computer keyboard of the guy next to me and swapped them. He couldn't type anything right and never did figure out what was wrong until I told him! It was priceless!
