. So normally i breed cockatiels and use a 10 gallon aquarium as a brooder when im hand feeding them anyway for some ungodly reason feel the need to hatch chickens (I know not a parrot but its still a bird) so I built a incubator out of a 10 gallon aquarium with a towel wraped around for insulation a porcelain light fixture with 100 wt bulb PC fan dimmer switch a egg carton a criter keeper container with a sponge in it for humidity and a thermometer I've had it set up for 2 days now temps staying at 99.5 to 100 perfect for hatching chicken eggs and humidity at 55 to 60 I get my eggs from a local chicken farm tmrw I have it set up for 12 eggs wish me luck anyone else ever done this

I am glad you posted this because I'm doing the same exact thing! Just put them in tonight! I only put in 5 eggs. They are from my hens but this is the first time I've tried to hatch any. If it works I'll go another batch. My goal is to end up with 4 more hens, but even if 3 if those hatch, 1 or 2 could be roosters. I don't want to keep more than 1 rooster at a time so our current rooster might become dinner at some point. He attacked my son the other day. Getting meaner with age!

Ouch at the attack sadly my dog chewed all my cords so I ran out and bought a 40 dollar little giant incubator to save 11 eggs I got for free lol I for plan on trying my homemade incubator again let me know how yours does
