I recently sold two yearling peahens. The buyer came to my farm to pick them up and used a net sack of some kind to wrap one of them up in and set her in a kennel in the back of their truck. The other one was just put into the kennel loose, but I must admit it turned into quite a fiasco in doing so. I was impressed with the net sack they used on the first one and have looked on the internet for similar or otherwise suitable sacks to use in transporting.

I am wondering if burlap sacks are suitable. Anyone with any ideas on this?

Yes if bundled properly. It is not recommended for long term travel but fine for a few hour drive.

I've seen them for sale like that too and it always cracks me up! But, it seems like the ones in sacks are much less panicky and less likely to injure themselves than the ones in the wooden cages I usually see, or in wire cages that damage everything. I wonder, though, if they aren't "calm" because they are in shock/stressed from being restrained. Not sure it would be any LESS stress than taking an injury or being caged with room to move.
