Hi Everyone,

We just moved to Independence, MN. We have almost 2 acres and a neighbor just said they heard you need 2 acres minimum to have any chickens at all in Independence, MN. It seems silly, because in Loretto (next town over), you can have 6 hens in city limits with a permit. I would think with almost 2 acres we could have a few hens. I haven't bought any yet because I'm concerned. No reply from the city yet on my inquiry & wanted to see if anyone else knows?

We had hoped to get 8 hens (no roosters) and 2 ducks.

You should post this on the forum " Where am I? Where are you?" Just find Minnesota's thread.

I don't have an answer to your question, but just wanted to say hi neighbor!😊 I live a little more than an hour north of you!
