Are chickens night blind?

Tonight we were working in the greenhouse till after dark, so I didn't close up the hens at the usual time. One was roosting on the outside of the coop, so I tried to pick her up and she flew off and landed right by the door so I herded her in. She just stopped right by the ramp up to the coop and just stood there like she didn't know where she was. So I picked her up and put her in the coop. It occurred to me that she just couldn't see- there is a faint outside light that I was using but it's barely light enough to see by the coop.

Yes, chickens have awful night vision. They can barely see anything when it gets dark.

Except for one Ancona hen that I have... I swear that girl has night vision
