My brooder is set up in my basement garage. I have a board that I need to prime and paint, and it’s too cold outside to do it on the porch. The board is for their enclosure.

Are chicks susceptible to paint fumes? I can’t paint with the garage door open because the furnace is malfunctioning (yay!) and pumping out high levels of CO on the exterior not far from the garage door.

This is a pretty easy question. Basically, anything that has lungs is susceptible to paint fumes, and since chicks lungs are still developing, they are especially at risk can't you bring the chicks inside, or wait for the weather to improve?

I can bring the board upstairs and paint it in a room that we are remodeling. Can’t bring them up as their brooder isn’t exactly mobile.

Thanks for answering the question!
