My dad crushed up some cloves using the mortar and pestle I use to crush up the baby quail feed, and tried to wash it out but the smell (and thus likely oils) are still there. I have tried looking this up on Google but I have found no results other than the oils being used as mite repellent and so I hopped on here for advice. We only have one mortar and pestle to grind the pellets up. My chicks are 3 week old.
