Are green feathers normal in barred rock roos?

Any black on any bird will sheen green or purple or blue or teal... that's what black feathers does.

That said, I don't think those are BR. I see feathered legs on the barred and the black bird. They may be marans or marans crosses.

Oh, ok on the maran cross. All of the chicks have the feathered legs. Some more than others.

Growing up... and just starting to crow. Gotta look for new homes for them but for now I like watching them... they are so pretty and not mean. The black one that was posted before went to my niece's home. I love the coloring on the big red guy... and he is getting huge.

I got a barredrock roo by mistake. He was all black with a white spot on his head. He was in a batch of black sexlinks. He looks like a barredrock with green iridescent tail feathers and some random red feathers on his breast. Not sure what he is a cross with.

how do you know its a roo? or a barred rock?
