Found a local java breeder with about 30- hens. I would like to get some chickens on the critical list, but my first priority is a good egg layer.

According to Henderson's breed chart, they only lay two out of six/seven . I would be more inclined to help the breed, though. JMHO
I am looking to get some Javas. Where is this breeder in Tennessee?

Dont have a exact address but he is on glover rd. rockford tn

Unfortunately I don't have room for whatever egg layers I get and some javas just for the critical part. I wished I did.

I just looked at Storey's illustrated guide to poultry, it says they lay a "fair" number of eggs...meaning NOT SO WELL.

Mine are one of my best laying flocks! They mostly lay ever day. Out of eight hens i usually get six or seven eggs every day. The eggs are a little bit narrow though, and not big and fat like I would like them to be. They are pullets however, in their defense, this is their first year laying.
