I've seen quite a few Little Tykes Conversion Coops around here and was wondering about their winter-hardiness? What have you done to make them warmer in the winter and not so stifling in the summer? (Other than hardware cloth/plexi on the windows?)

I've heard of people blowing insulation into the walls...

Yup. Use that foam stuff that expands. Drill a little hole at different places (just before you insert the hose, don't want it squirting out all over!) Slowly spray it in and let it expand. Move to another spot. Can do the same with the roof, doors, and shutters. I just closed my shutters over the windows to keep the heat in. You still want to have good ventilation even in winter.
