Are Manchurians and Italians the same?

i thought that the Manchurians had a darker face kind of like a mask where the italians dont, the italians are my favorite because they seem to be the calmest of all my coturnkix, the tibetans seem to be the most aggressive.

Love my italians, so mellow and come right up to my face and pick gently at my glasses. Fall asleep standing up just having a "loving contact moment" staring into one another's eyes...ain't love grand...
Although I am coming to apprecieate the antics of fiesty in the tibs. I am keeping reall close watch on the upcoming next batch for bloody heads though...

(Difference is italians have the dark brown spots, manchurians have the very dark brown head and no brown spots. They have, until recently, been pretty interchangable.)

I just googled coturnix quail. ahah;)

I didn't made reference to the mask because I recently read an article (have been trying but can't find it now) about genetics and one secondary conclusions was that the rusty/brown mask is present in all variations and is very probably caused by high testosterone levels, even the wild coturnix coturnix quail have (and those are cousin of the coturnix japonica). And scientifically that mask is referred as 'dark morph'. Follow this link www.ibercajalav.net/img/144_QuailCcoturnix.pdf

They are just natural color variations in the wild pattern golden color birds, which can not currently be line bread for contestant color. There will be an odd lot of whites and browns plus various shades of gold.

If you don't believe me, then order 2+ dozen (Golden/Manchurian/Italian), hatch them out, and see for yourself. The genetics are mostly sound around here, but people need to get their..."Not only, but also" in the right place. IMHO!
