Are my chickens normal?

I have been letting my 8 and 6 week old chickens out of thier coop and into the run now for about a week now. I have a nice big run for them, and they like going under the coop better! It is only 18 inches high, but all of them cram under the coop to scratch and try to lay in the spots of sun. I look out to the big open run and not a single chicken in it, I even threw out some BOSS to entice them out and nothing. Does anyone elses chickens do this?

They feel safe under cover. It takes a while, some longer than others, to adjust to new digs.

Normal. They feel safer and it's a game. Nothing to do out in the run but be bored.
