Hey there!
So I have a handful of chicks that are about two months old. Today when I went out to the run, I noticed some issues. It’s mainly the three RIRs. The worst out of those three looks a bit pale around the eyes, she’s also are holding her tail down, her feathers are puffed out, the wings are slightly loose at her sides... The best way I can deal it is, she looks depressed or cold? Her stance is also a little bit off.
The other chicks are peppy! But Just those three RIRs are the only ones looking that way.
They’ve got full crops, they’re drinking.... They’re l mobile but definitely moving a lot slower than they should be. I’ve never had chickens do that before... I’ve had a handful with their tails down from time to time but never quite to this extent. And it always worked itself out.
I wasn’t sure if it was from injury since they’re in my coop with my adult birds who are about 4 years old... My birds have plenty of space so they can get away from the older ones pretty easily. And so far things have been really smooth after I mixed them. I’ve also mixed my flock around five times in the past few years and have never had them injured...
However it could be because they’re sick or injured for completely different reasons.
