I have 14 chicks, 3 weeks old, 9 I hatched from my flock, and 5 from TSC. I have never raised chicks before. They all act fine, eat alot, and drink alot. They act like chicks should, I think. My concern is how they feel when I hold them. They feel really skinny. Their keel bone feels very sharp, like there is no fat on them at all. They are all banties, and I have them on medicated chick feed. They all feel the same, but I notice it the most on the little silkies that I got from TSC.

I know they are just babies so maybe this is how they are supposed to feel, I just want to make sure. They act fine, and I see them all eat. I have given them some egg now and then and this morning I gave them some finely chopped tomatos. Boy, did that start a fight.

I am probably just a worried chick mom.
Thanks

At that age they are all fluff, very skinny. Perfectly normal.

Thank you. I figured I was just a worry wart, they eat like crazy and haven't been on any dirt, and too young to worm, etc, etc. But I just wanted to hear it from someone who has done this before. They are SOOOO incredibly cute, I have no idea what I am going to do with them. I guess just feed and take care of them. Such is the role of the human
