Are my eggs cooked?!

I'm hatching three eggs right now, and my whole family is involved, even though they don't know what they are doing. Someone, I think my Dad, must have thought the egg temp. was too low and pushed my lamp down REALLY close to the box. I went to go check on the eggs a minute ago, and the temperature was 109 F! AHHHHHHHHH! I don't think it was that temp for a long really long time...but I honestly can't be sure. Is there hope left for the eggs?

Also, they feel a little bit heavy, but I tried to candle them a little with a flashlight and they are translucent... good, bad?

And another random question: if eggs are ordered online what is the amount of time it takes for the fresh egg to get to your house? In short, how do you determine how many days until they hatch?

109 for very short periods is fine but can still be bad.

Candle on day 7 or 10 to see if they are fertile or not, at that time you should see blood veins.

They will hatch 21 days after you set them at 100.5 degrees. As for shipping, eggs should be fertile but not developing till you set them.

Exactly what silke said. Depending on what day you are on, transulcent is fine. After day 7 you should easily see a dark spot on the egg.

When you order on line, as soon as you warm the eggs, they start to develop.

Be sure to poke around on here or another website and do your homework. There are lots of good candling site so you can see what you are supposed to see. It pays off. Be sure the humidity is 50% also or youll go all the way to the end and the chicks wont be able to get out and they'll die.

Actually, my "incubator" is just a shoebox, digital thermometer, a lamp, some water, and a bunch of pillows. This is why I'm so worried about the chicks, haha.
