i have two serahims and ill be completely honest im a new owner and im scared of them getting sick or hurt. They are in a small cage right now indoors but I plan on getting a hepa air purifier and a fiesty ferret cage for them. Im scared my female might have a broken wing since when she sits down, she slouches on it. I fear this because I had to hold her to my chest so my grandmother could clean her head (the male had, politely put, made a poop while perching above her.) can yall tell me if they look okay? They should be in the bigger cage by the 10th. Ill post a video below once youtube communicates to me. Basics like both of them are poofed up and they have been sneezing a bit. It worries me

I've owned a lot of birds and never seen any lounge around quite like pigeons do. The slouching on their wings is quite normal, mine usually do it to sunbathe or after a bath. If she's not hanging or dragging it when she's not laying I wouldn't worry.
I'm not sure on the puffed feathers or sneezing, the video should help me or somebody else answer :)

They do a lot of weird stuff, I've seen them slouch on their wings and lean so far off a perch to catch a beam of sun shining into the loft that they fall right off. Sometimes they'll spread a wing, sometimes not.

@newscaredy First, welcome to BYC! Those are some pretty birds but to be honest, from the video, your birds do not look healthy, the sneezing is a concern. I doubt the wing is broken but that's only a guess without examining it. How long have you had them? How old are they? Are they eating and drinking?:) Also, your location might be relevant as some diseases are more prevalent in certain locations or weather environments...

Beautiful birds @newscaredy ! and welcome to BYC!

I agree with all above.

I doubt the wing is broken, but if it drags the ground when she walks then it might be.

For the sneezing, it could be anything. Diagnosing birds is difficult to do. I would get 4in1 tabs online to give your birds. This should clear up anything they have. Also, I would put apple cider vinegar in their water. I do 2 tablespoons per gallon. Do you have grit with your birds? What are you feeding them?

Thank you so much for responding, and also I did order them online from a breeder. Im feeding them a mix of grit and wild bird food, should I add veggies and stuff like that? Also I live in southern Tennessee. They are indoor as of now since we have an actual coyote problem right now. Ive barely had them for a week.

If possible get a pigeon mix. sometimes a co op will have some. If not, bird seed will work I think. Throw in some celery tops, lettuce, or peas occasionally for greens. I do feed greens about once a week. And give them a bath! Fill a tray with 2-3 inches of water and they will go to town!

I live in middle TN. :)

Alright, will add that to my grocery list. Also, would a vet visit be needed? Also heres the feed I got them.

No, I don't think a bet visit is needed. I have never taken a pigeon to a vet, most can be treated at home easily.

By the way, they may not take to greens quickly. The breeder probably didn't give them greens, or baths.
