are orpingtons broody?

are orpingtons broody because i have 4 adult orpingtons and two chicks and some eggs in the incubator but my incubater is horrible so i was wondering if i could put some eggs under an orpington hen but and if they arent broody how do i get them broody?

yes oprpingtons are good broodys

mine went broody and is looking after 3 and doing a wonderful job

if they are not at th moment you could try putting fake eggs or golf balls inthe nest box after a few in there it could tempt her to sit on them

Orpingtons normally are but not all, and not all will start automatically when you want them to. In fact most "pet quality" Orpingtons are less broody than the big huge fluffy ones you find at sanctioned (not county fair) shows.
