Are Salmon Faverolle cockerels slow growers?

Hi,

I got two SF baby chicks from the feed store, not knowing genders at the time. One died. The one remaining I believe is a cockerel, and has a nice temperament. I also got 3 Welsummers, and 2 Cream Legbars around the same age (all of those pullet chicks). My SF has colored darker on his wings & feathers that are growing out, but he doesn't seem to be growing as fast as the other chicks at all. He's still all yellow at 5+ weeks old, and is just a little chick. I see him eat, drink, etc. Was wondering whether the breed is just slow growers for the cockerels? Thanks for any help.

Thanks so much for your responses. This little guy is about 1/3 the size/weight of the other chicks. I was told that he isn't a bantam. Is the smaller size/slow growth normal as well?

um actually no. this breed tends to be fat from birth to adulthood, specially the roos. I had some chicks of other breeds go through this. they eventually feathered out but kept the scrawny look.
