I have three fully-grown female muscavoy ducks. I know there are pine/stone martens in the area and I've lost a chicken to them once a few years ago, so I really want to keep my ducks safe. The ducks are lovey and really good-natured but they are much bigger than chickens and they have claws so they look like they could put up quite a fight if threatened. Since losing a chicken I've build a much stronger pen and haven't had any trouble since then, but I am still a bit worried about it. Does anyone know if stone martens would go for them, and if so would the ducks be able to protect themselves?

had to re-search what a stone marten was (never heard of one), know what a pine marten is though.

to answer your question though, yes they would be a problem, there a member of the weasel family, they will kill for fun, and i doubt a duck would put up much a fight to one of them, as they hunt birds rabbits etc.. they may be cute but there mean (like most weasel family members)
