Are store bought nesting pads safe for baby chicks?

Not a single person is talking about it on the internet so I am asking myself. I recently got nesting pads I saw at the store and decided to replace the straw im using for my 4/day old chicks and their mama hen. But now that i put them in there and the chicks and mama all set to go I'm no longer sure if it's safe. When I tried looking it up, the only thing people talk about is using it for hens and their eggs, but no one talks about when the chicks hatch.
