There are those of us (ME! ME!!!) that don't much like bantams, but most people do indeed want bantams.

I think sumatras sell very well in both standard and bantams.Really good ones are very hard to come buy.If you get real good ones, don't worry, they will sell.If you get excellent quality,i'll be your first customer.I have some standard black eggs in the incubator now.JMO.Take care.

I agree, the blue bantams should sell like hotcakes. We get tons of emails asking for blue bantams but we only had a few breeder birds so built up the flocks this year.

Do you have any pictures of the birds?

Sumatra gamefowl do not seem to bring the prices that other gamefowl do. They are stunning birds and if you show and place you will get fair prices for them. Right now the tight feathered oriental gamefowl are fetching above average prices.

Sumatras have some advantages as a backyard free ranging chicken, they can fly very well which gives them an advantage in staying clear of predators. From what I understand with the right bloodline they can be very game and this also would help their ability to survive.

I do not have sumatras yet though I did purchase some scrambled eggs once... Ohhh well I guess it was not supposed to be. I have various games and also some dual purpose for eggs. I do plan on selling off my dual purpose next year and having all game free rangers. Mine do very well at laying eggs and consume less commercial feed and prefer to find their own food. This makes the cost to feed ratio very good, the drawback is that they go broody more, and take about a month more to reach laying age. Another disadvantage is they do not lay a brown egg, which seems to be what is popular with people that want to buy eggs for consumption.
