Whether it be short stories, poems, or books? Or something else. I love to write poetry.

Yes, I have recently written a couple of children's books (for my own enjoyment of course). I do a lot of writing at work, and it is nice to just write about silly stuff for a change. I also write essays when I am stressed. Poetry would probably take a lot of effort for me, what type of poetry do you write?

COLOR OF THE HAND
A man stands on the edge,
Reaching out his hand.
Hoping someone will take it,
Looking for a friend.
Another reaches out,
To stop him before he falls,
The eyes do meet,
And both now know.
It wasn't the hand he did not want,
But the color that it showed.

I enjoy writing. I usually write short stories, rants, poems, and the sort. I've been working on the same novel for the last 13 years and I don't think it'll ever get finished, but I'm enjoying writing and rewriting it so...*shrugs.*

i'm not very good at novels. I'm not good at dialogue or plot. I like writing inspirational poetry.

I like your poem Coyote. Forgive me for asking but does it mean that the one reaching out for help is racist? This is why I don't write poetry, I don't seem to get the meaning unless it is spelled out. But still I like the brevity, imagery, and tone of this poem.

So my dream job is as a writer. Working from home on my own terms, I am present when the kids need me, and it is quiet most of the time. I don't have to talk to a bunch of people at work, and I am paid tons of money for my efforts. I never run out of ideas to write about, and I have all the time in the world to just ...... think. Any of you writers have the idyllic and fulfilling life I have described?
