First the white ones, I picked them up from a friend who works at a school and takes all the chicks they hatch out for the kids. She says they order from murray mcmurray htchery and get a variety, all standards. She said there was supposed to be one rarest of the rare in this combo, but these are not them since there were a lot of the white breed. There were some roosters of this breed in her variety and they had larger combs and waddles. (we had a deal..I only take what looks to be a hen when they are old enough to tell).
They were born in May and are some are still chirping.

Now I also have this one that I thought was a hen the first time I saw her, and 2 months later she appears to be a hen! Her long tail throws me off.

All are girls.Brown Leghorn and White Leghorn.White girls have to thin legs for Rock

I have 2 leghorn hens that look nothing like these girls, these girls are bigger than the adult white leghorns I have. but perhaps more responses will point towards leghorns. I suppose my adult leghorns could just be odd balls. .
However, the brown one does have a long tail like my leghorns do. I have no experience with leghorn pullets so I am really pretty ignorant here, pardon me.
anyone else?

well, cool, they must be better quality leghorns than the hens I have.
Thank you both for your opinions, i didn't suspect that the crowns would be so small since they get so big, so I never even compared them to leghorns when I was looking at all the breeds. Wish I had a few more brown leghorns, they are pretty. I wonder why they are not called partridge leghorns, the lacing?
