are these silkies bantam?

here they are about 4 weeks old,i thought they would be really small with the other chicks they are with but dont seem to be. the black ones are guessed to be black gaints and the grayish idk.(if you know feel free to share!)

inbetween the 2 black ones,this silkie really isnt much smaller

All Silkies are bantams, unless the Silkie feathered gene has been bred into a larger breed.

WOW!!! do i feel dumb!!! i really didnt know! can i blame it on mommy brain? they just dont seem small and i was expecting these tinie tiny little things!!!

My silkies are kinda big too. All the ones I've seen are bigger than I had thought to. I guess silkies are a bigger bantam size.

For the longest time, my Silkies were pretty close to the size of my other chicks, then the standard chicks kept growing and my Silkies slowed down. There's a pretty obvious size difference now, at 18 weeks.

Breeds will grow at different rates as well. Some brahmas at that age might be same size as the silkes but a year down the road they will dwarf them.

My silkie chick who is about 2 weeks younger than my EE chicks, is actually the same size as them! I think their fluff makes them seem a little bigger too...
