I have a tall bush growing along my fence in my backyard that grows these small red berries every summer (picture included). Each berry is about half the size of a pea. I always see birds swooping down to eat them, so I was wondering if they were safe for my hens. I'm not sure what type of berries they technically are, but I've seen them in places other than my backyard, so they must be relatively common. Any ideas...?

I'm guessing Mountain Ash, which is safe for the birds. However, I think I've also read that they can become intoxicated on them if they eat too many.

I'll post some link to an article below on Mountain Ash. However, I recommend you take a spring with berries into a nursery to make sure it is what you think it is.
