Are they supposed to be crowing at one month old?

DH heard some "practice" crowing this morning...I thought they were a lot older before the noise started!? I cant handle 109 crowing together!

I wouldn't say that's the norm. None of mine are even attempting crowing yet at 7 weeks... all I hear are peeps and the occasional 'bawk', lol. I would think you'll have a good bit before the others start.

Oh whew! I asked him if he was sure and he said "Well, it was going 'arrrooo-hack' every few minutes..." it was one of the Prod Red boys.

I have an 8 week old blue bantam that is starting that "teenage boy squeak/crack/squawk" crow

He thinks he's hot stuff!

I dont remember when mine started to crow, and they sounded like a car alarm going off or something LOL. My neighbors loved it

. They are going to be extremely happy this year though. I have a million chicks LOL (not kidding at least 70 between few day old chicks and juveniles, unless I get some given away or sold, although not planning on that for another month).

I have 4 - 13 week Barred Rock Roos. The first began to crow around 6 weeks, the second around 10 and another just began today. I think they sound like a car horn with a weak battery when they first start! Our neighbors one year old and mine like to call to one another. I tell mine that's what they'll sound like when they grow up.
