can my chickens get chicks on there first time ever laying eggs (there eggs are kind of small) i do have a rooster in with them she has layed 4 eggs and i just left them in there hopeing they would hatch

From what I've learned you should wait until you have larger eggs to leave under a broody hen. Chicks can't grow in the small eggs.

You didn't mention if you have a broody hen? If you don't have a broody who is wanting to sit on them 24/7 then you cannot have chicks hatch. The eggs have to be incubated either by you in the house in an incubator or under a hen who sits on them for roughly 21 days.
